Born from classrooms, crowned with confidence, and rooted in representation, The Cool Collective was founded by award-winning educator and author Charlie “TOY C.” Jones. After being named Teacher of the Year three times and spending nearly two decades empowering young minds, Charlie recognized a deeper need: children weren’t just hungry for books — they were starving for belonging, boldness, and belief in themselves.
That’s where The Cool Collective began — as a love letter to literacy, self-worth, and legacy.
What started with one book and one message — that every child deserves to feel “cool,” confident, and seen — has now grown into a nationwide movement. Through culturally rich children’s books, leadership programs, school partnerships, and community-driven events, The Cool Collective is raising the bar on what it means to educate and elevate the next generation.
